Travel weekend. Would appreciate prayers.

We are both heading out of town this weekend. As a matter of fact, we leave this evening after Henry gets off work at Home Depot. We're going to Trenton for the night. I'm staying with my parents over the weekend while Henry drives his dad to South Carolina to visit his sister for her birthday. They will come home on Sunday after church and a birthday lunch for her. It will be a late night getting back home but I'm sure worth the effort. His dad likes to go every year but it's getting more difficult for him to make the trip by himself. This is the second year Henry will have driven him. Please pray for safe travels for them.

My dad's chemo treatment was put off until Monday. (Gotta love insurance issues.) He is very weak but doesn't complain, just sits under a blanket a lot. Says he doesn't hurt, that he just feels like being lazy. My dad's been a lot of things but lazy isn't one of them. He really, really wants to plant a garden tomorrow so we'll see. We tease that when he goes to his garden he is going to therapy. He simply loves it and it lifts his spirits but it's a new year and time so we'll see. The problem is he doesn't plant a small garden; he plants a garden that can feed a small city. Again, he sees it as therapy so time will tell what he is able to do.

Chad is in full swing with his new job while going to school fulltime. Thankful? YES! Tired? YES! But it's a good tired and God is good...all the time. The timing of this job is another chapter in the book we are going to write one day! :)

Please pray for our friends Russ, Darlene and Anthony. Russ's brain cancer is aggressive. Enough said. Darlene did tell me that she gave him the assignment of praying for my dad and he asks her often if she has heard from me to update her on Dad's progress. That's Russ. Doing what he can. That's Darlene. Helping Russ help others.

Our little man Kaleb is 11 months old today. Hard to believe. He changes daily and we are so thankful to see him as often as we do. There is nothing like walking through the door only to have him look up, flash his huge grin, and reach that hand out to be picked up. Love it, love it, LOVE IT! Keith and Heather are amazing parents and I am so proud of them.

Wow, I have rambled on tonight. I better get ready to head out to pick up Henry for our traveling weekend. Thank you for your prayers and continued communications. We love you and pray for you as well.
