Update

We had a good time with Kaleb's first birthday party. Heather had to wake him from a nap so it took him a little while to figure out why all those people were at his house and staring at him. He gravitated to his Grandpa and stayed there quite a bit throughout the party. Heather made his cake and it took him a little while to figure out what to do with it but once he did, he dug in pretty quickly! I'm so proud of Heather and Keith and all they do to parent this little guy.

Saturday he was crawling everywhere and doing a little walking. Sunday, he decided crawling was old school and is now walking everywhere! We think that maybe Josiah, Gwen's son who is two weeks older than him and walking everywhere, showed him how to do it! :)

As you can see from the picture, my dad was able to come to the party. My mom stayed home because she was in the contagious stage of shingles. She is in pain that comes and goes; we continue to pray for her recovery. As for my dad, he gets another round of chemo on Monday and we pray his white blood count will stay strong. Medication that will be administered earlier than last time will be given as a precaution.

We are in another state of change in that our boss, the school director, is leaving Orange County for another job opportunity. She is not only a fabulous boss but a long-time friend so we will miss the daily interaction with her. Another administrator, a good friend as well, is being moved within OCPS so it's a good thing we've had so much practice with "rolling with it" because here we go again! We continue to pray for full-time employment for Henry and are thankful that God has provided in the meantime. We work hard and are thankful for a place called home where we can rest. Yes, you heard it right. The Cribb's are learning to rest.

For our Apopka family, please pray for Bernie Dibble. Kathy and Bernie were the ushers at the early service in Tarpon for many years. They were church volunteers and gave countless hours to the Lord in a variety of ways, including a card ministry that Kathy did. They were also leads for the Thanksgiving Day meal that the church prepares every year for whomever wants to eat. Hundreds, and hundreds, and hundreds each year. Kathy passed away from breast cancer and her funeral was today. I can't imagine Bernie without Kathy but he has to figure it out now. I pray God will help him with the void that he must feel. As I'm typing this, I'm trying to remember if I ever saw one without the other. I think the answer is no.

Hug your loved ones close and remember that our time on this earth is short. Thank you for praying for our family and for keeping in touch. Come to see us any time. :)
