Thinking...

I'm back in Orlando after another trip to Trenton. Things are moving very quickly at the house with the power being turned on today as well as cabinets getting installed. We made a quick trip to Tarpon where we picked up a few pieces of furniture for my parents. We looked like the Beverly Hillbillies with our stuff tied down under tarps on the back of the pickup truck! :) It was good to get to spend a few hours with Chad as he came back into town a little while before we headed out of town!

My parents are both sick so I'm asking for prayer for both of them. Daddy (Wilbur) has something like a cold that has settled in his ears. He has a hard time hearing on a normal basis and this has made it practically impossible. It has been accompanied by a low-grade fever and that just makes him feel miserable. My mom (Betty) got sick during the night and has spent the day in bed...fever, nauseated, etc., etc., etc. She is a diabetic and will head to the doctor first thing in the morning (per Dr. Pam's orders) if she isn't better.

My drive home always gives me lots of time to reflect on what is happening in our lives. I know God is in control and I'm so thankful for that. However, I miss our Tarpon church family immensely and wish I could just pick them all up and bring them closer to us. That would be a challenge though since we are in two places most of the time! :) Their new pastor arrives next week so please, Apopka friends and others, please pray for Doug and Suzanne as well as our Tarpon church family as they begin a new relationship together.

Speaking of prayers....let's all join together in praying for our new president and his family. Tomorrow is an historic day in many ways. The task before Mr. Obama is looming and he needs all the prayers we can offer up for him.

Apopka friends - Russ McConnell turns 55 on Wednesday of this week. As you know, three years ago he was diagnosed with a brain tumor and he is struggling in many ways at this time. In an effort to make this year's birthday very special, we are asking people to send notes and/or pictures telling Russ about a memorable moment or a funny story you may remember about him...anything to tell him how very special he is. Darlene is going to scrapbook the notes and cards and pictures he gets so that he can enjoy them at any time. His strength is "iffy" and very unpredictable so this is our way of bringing a party to him! Thanks for doing this!

Have a great week! God bless.
