Pastor Appreciation Month

October is Pastor Appreciation Month. Henry's dad is a retired pastor in Trenton (my hometown) at the church where Henry served as a student pastor w-a-y back in the 70's when we met. Each Sunday this month, that church is doing something special for Henry's dad. Today, the surprise was Henry!

Today was Laity Sunday so their Lay Leader led the worship. We snuck in the back of the church after the service had started and when it was time for the sermon, the Lay Leader said he couldn't find his sermon notes and he didn't know what to do. Henry walked up and said he had a sermon that would go with the scripture that had been read. It took Henry's dad a second to figure out what was going on but then said, "Hallelujah!" It was a cool, cool moment.

After church, we had lunch with them and then visited with Henry's sister and then my parents. My parents' house now has a couple of windows in and continues to show more signs of progress!

We have started moving furniture from the parsonage and now have a couple of empty rooms. We are grateful to Jim and Anne from Tarpon and Bill K from Apopka for helping us this past Friday.

Saturday, we went to see the movie, Fireproof. Chad and Danielle went with us too. Thank you, Roy and Barb, for the gift certificate and the suggestion! The message of the movie is fabulous and this is one we will tell others to see as well. There is some "cheesy" acting, but very little, and the message overrides everything. Both of "our" kids enjoyed it and were really glad they saw it.

Have a blessed week and know how much we continue to be thankful for your prayers as we keep you in ours.
