Ramblings...

  • Kaleb is in position and Heather's body is preparing for Kaleb's arrival. We are in the "wait" mode and realize we may be in this mode for a day or three weeks. Either way, we are grateful and thankful.
  • We have successfully taken off wallpaper from the kitchen walls....wallpaper that had been painted over! Our best investment of the week? A steamer! In all honesty, Henry deserves the bulk of the credit for this process as he did most of it while I was at work.
  • The ceiling in the kitchen has been painted and the walls have been kilzed. Tomorrow, color hits the walls.
  • Two more days of students before Spring Break. I take over the duties for working with GED Exit Option students who are in Work Study when we return for the final quarter. It's good to be with high school seniors again.
  • I saw a former student from Apopka on campus yesterday. She is now a full-time adult. She said, "Miss, your hair is so long! You look younger!" I couldn't bring myself to ask her, "Younger than what?"
  • Listening to the news about cuts to funding for public education can make me a little crazy. I continue to remember that if I only listened to the "facts" on tv, I wouldn't have a job now! Thank you God!
  • Tarpon friends (and Apopka too): Please pray for DJ Bores as he has traveled to Vietnam to bring home his and Tricia's new son, Nolan. Nolan will be one on March 31. Nolan joins his sister (who was adopted from Vietnam) Katie as well as Christian and Patrick. Nolan's mommy is Tricia.
  • Please know how much we love and appreciate you. Please continue to stay in touch either via phone or email.
